Do you have arm and hand weakness after stroke?
The PROMOTE study is now enrolling participants to use a new home rehabilitation system (the Axem Home) for arm and hand rehabilitation after stroke.
You may be eligible if you:
- Had a stroke 6 months up until 5 years ago
- Are experiencing arm and/or hand weakness as a result of your stroke
- Do not have any scalp wounds
- Do not have a vision impairment that affects your ability to use a computer or tablet
What does it involve?
You will be asked to wear a headband that uses a safe and non-invasive form of light technology to measure brain activity (fNIRS) while performing a tablet based independent arm and hand exercise program 4 times a week and participate in telerehabilitation sessions with an Occupational Therapist 2 times a week for 5 weeks.
You will also be asked to attend three in-person visits (approximately 3 hours each visit) at the Massachusetts General Hospital main campus.
